Toddler Care

The “Toddler” age from about 18 mos to 3 years is a critical experience for every child. The toddler age is a time when the child is beginning to learn about the world, in earnest, and experience self-confidence as well as learn to play well with others. We consider “daycare” and “childcare” to be conceptually the same program: beginning at about 18 months and going up to the start of preschool learning. Most children are “potty trained” and our programs work – in age appropriate ways – to weave in both learning and STEM concepts. All children are “wired” for learning, and our staff enjoys the opportunity to make an impression in your child’s developmental journey.

Pleasant Hill Toddler Care

Unlike many toddler programs in and around the I-680 corridor, our programs will allow your child to do more than just play with blocks and draw pictures. Of course, those activities are important. However, we want to focus on your child’s brain development while encouraging them to complete those activities.

We focus on many different subjects similar to ones your child will learn when they enroll in school in a year or so. Our subjects include:

  • Math
  • Science
  • Language
  • Visual Arts
  • Movement
  • Physical Arts
  • Cultural Studies

Using modern teaching methods in combination with best-in-class daycare, each of our subjects allow your child to learn off of flash cards, teach them new vocabulary, play with puzzles, and learn to read. If that sounds like something you want your child to be involved in, send them to our Pleasant Hill, California daycare program!

A Best-in-class Toddler Program for Your Child

Here at Play and Learn School, our main goals are based on helping your child improve their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional skills. We believe that it’s important for your child to learn to work with others, but we want them to be able to learn at their own pace. Learning comes differently for many people, so we know the way things are taught shouldn’t all be the same. We want to do whatever it takes to help your child prepare for preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, high school, college, and life. If you want them to be prepared too, send them to our Day Care! Our goal is to be not only the best daycare program in Pleasant Hill but also to be the best program customized to the needs of your child.

Questions and Answers on Toddler Care

Q. How Much Does Toddler Care Cost in Pleasant Hill?

A. Cost is one of the most common questions that we get about our toddler care programs. The costs vary with the amount of time you and your family need, and of course our rates vary over time. The best procedure is to contact our program and inquire about the program, including costs. During the school tour, you can not only see the campus, meet some of the staff and teachers, but our staff will be happy to sit down and go over costs in detailed based on a custom program for your child or children.

Q. Where is Toddler Care Near Me?

A. The whole “near me” search is a big one on both Google and Yelp. With campuses not only in Pleasant Hill but also in Fremont, Danville, and Dublin (plus one coming soon in Milpitas), our locations are “commute friendly” and “near you.” Many Bay Area families are two-income earners, with one parent going one direction and other parent going another. Our campus is convenient to both I-680 as well as Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Concord and Lafayette as well as central Fremont, Dublin, and Danville for our other campuses. We’re sure that we can be time-convenient to your needs.

Q. What is Different about Your Toddler Program?

A. Our toddler program is child-centered. We believe that children have an “innate” desire to learn. Our mentors advocated putting the child at the center of the education project, as an active partner. This means even at the early stages such as 18 months or less than 2 years, children can be nurtured and their interior passion to learn harnessed to help them fall in love with learning. We love learning, and we love contributing to the process at these early stages.

Q. How is Potty Training Conducted at your toddler program?

A. We recognize that younger children have “accidents.” Our staff is helpful and nurturing, and we consider everything a “learning opportunity.” We do not shame children. We work with them to understand their bodies and how they work. Thus, in a positive and nurturing way, we work on age-appropriate learning about their own bodies and about how they can and should interact with other children. There are no negatives in the our method, only “learning opportunities!”

Reasons Why Toddler Care Good for Parents and Good for Kids

Toddlers, aged 18 months to 3 years, are at a critical stage of development, as they are transitioning from infancy to early childhood. They are curious, active, and constantly exploring their environment, making this a crucial time for their learning and development. Putting a toddler in a professional licensed toddler program in Pleasant Hill such as ours, interchangeably referred to as daycare or childcare, can provide numerous benefits for both the toddler and their parent or guardian.

One of the main benefits of a licensed toddler program in Pleasant Hill, California, is the professional and trained staff who can provide a safe and nurturing environment for the child. The staff is trained in child development and understands the needs of toddlers, including their physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. This allows them to create a program that is tailored to the child’s individual needs, helping them to grow and develop in a positive way.

In addition to providing a safe and nurturing environment, a licensed toddler program also provides a structured program for the child. Toddlers thrive on routine, and a structured program helps them to feel secure and comfortable. The program includes a variety of age-appropriate activities, such as arts and crafts, storytime, and outdoor play, which help to develop their cognitive, social, and emotional skills.

Putting a toddler in a licensed toddler program can also benefit the parent or guardian. It provides them with the peace of mind that their child is being cared for by trained professionals in a safe and nurturing environment. This allows the parent or guardian to focus on their work or other responsibilities, knowing that their child is in good hands.

Furthermore, putting a toddler in a licensed toddler program can also benefit the child’s social development. Toddlers are social creatures and enjoy interacting with other children. A licensed toddler program provides them with opportunities to interact with their peers, learn social skills, and develop important relationships. This is particularly important for only children or children with limited social opportunities.

While some may argue that a parent or guardian can provide adequate care for their toddler at home, a licensed toddler program provides additional benefits that cannot be replicated at home. For example, licensed toddler programs have access to a range of resources and materials that may not be available at home. These resources and materials can help to stimulate the child’s imagination and creativity, enhancing their learning and development.

If you have a toddler, please reach out for a program tour. We’re excited to meet your little darling, help him or her start their pathway to a successful education, and give you – Mommy, Daddy, or caregiver – a much needed break from all that “toddler energy!”

Toddler Factoid: Piaget and the Child

Piaget’s continued interactions with young children became part of his life-long research. After reading about a child who thought that the sun and moon followed him wherever he went, Piaget wanted to find out if all young children had a similar belief. He found that many did indeed believe this. Piaget went on to explore children’s countless “why” questions, such as, “Why is the sun round?” or “Why is grass green?” He concluded that children do not think like adults. Their thought processes have their own distinct order and special logic. Children are not “empty vessels to be filled with knowledge” (as traditional pedagogical theory had it). They are “active builders of knowledge-little scientists who construct their own theories of the world.”
